Well, fuck.  I got paid today,  but about $600 less than I expected.

$2717.14.  Take out $845.90 for my insurance for the next 6 months (my premium is a little less than that, but I have to pay about 1 month extra for the time between I got the car and when I was supposed to renew).  Take out another $800 for a car payment.  That's just to begin with.

That leaves $1071.41 for the month.  Not an insignificant amount, but that's about how much I was hoping to pay down my credit cards by, and I still need to eat and pay bills.

Luckily, it's not all bad, I should be getting my security deposit back that I paid on the apartment, in full since I moved out early and let him do construction while I was still in my lease, within the next couple days.  That's $400, so that really takes a lot of the sting out of the car insurance.  And hopefully my credit cards will all be paid way, way down by the time that my insurance payment comes around again.

So, I paid about $600 on my credit cards.  That leaves me with about $600 more, subtract about $150 for bills, $100 for Liz discretionary, and then I have $350 left for food and gas for the month, not very much.  Oh, and I already spent $80 on 60 rounds of Winchester SXT .45 ACP ammunition, so I guess that's my discretionary spending for the month.

So much for buying an iPhone this month.  Although I pretty much knew that went out the window back when my corolla died.  I do have some flexibility in my budget though, my car payment is really only $500 minimum, and I think I'll trim my insurance coverage limits down.  That will take off at least a hundred dollars on the insurance, I can always bring them back up in 6 months if I have more spare money then.

EDIT:  Nevermind on the insurance, after checking with Geico, if I drop my coverage to the bare minimum required by Ohio, leaving only comprehensive and collision with $500 deductibles, I'll save $92.  The only way to really save money on my insurance to drop comprehensive and collision, which isn't worth the risk on a brand new car.

Oh yeah, and taxes suck.

Not really, you'll be in Florida and earning your food by helping my mom, so you can eat pretty much whatever you want on her tab.

Well, I'm not really going to be able to afford my usual diet, so... vegetarian at best.

Except she's paying for it, so yeah you could afford a little better than your usual diet if you wanted.
