Well, fuck. I got paid today, but about $600 less than I expected.
$2717.14. Take out $845.90 for my insurance for the next 6 months (my premium is a little less than that, but I have to pay about 1 month extra for the time between I got the car and when I was supposed to renew). Take out another $800 for a car payment. That's just to begin with.
That leaves $1071.41 for the month. Not an insignificant amount, but that's about how much I was hoping to pay down my credit cards by, and I still need to eat and pay bills.
Luckily, it's not all bad, I should be getting my security deposit back that I paid on the apartment, in full since I moved out early and let him do construction while I was still in my lease, within the next couple days. That's $400, so that really takes a lot of the sting out of the car insurance. And hopefully my credit cards will all be paid way, way down by the time that my insurance payment comes around again.
So, I paid about $600 on my credit cards. That leaves me with about $600 more, subtract about $150 for bills, $100 for Liz discretionary, and then I have $350 left for food and gas for the month, not very much. Oh, and I already spent $80 on 60 rounds of Winchester SXT .45 ACP ammunition, so I guess that's my discretionary spending for the month.
So much for buying an iPhone this month. Although I pretty much knew that went out the window back when my corolla died. I do have some flexibility in my budget though, my car payment is really only $500 minimum, and I think I'll trim my insurance coverage limits down. That will take off at least a hundred dollars on the insurance, I can always bring them back up in 6 months if I have more spare money then.
EDIT: Nevermind on the insurance, after checking with Geico, if I drop my coverage to the bare minimum required by Ohio, leaving only comprehensive and collision with $500 deductibles, I'll save $92. The only way to really save money on my insurance to drop comprehensive and collision, which isn't worth the risk on a brand new car.
Oh yeah, and taxes suck.

Since I got less than I was hoping, I think I'll take some pictures and put my EOTech 552 holographic weapon sight up for sale tonight. Probably be able to get $375 for it. It's practically brand new, I've only used it on my .22LR upper, so it's not like it's been subjected to any severe recoil, and it's just been sitting in my gun case for months. I'll replace it with the DMS-1 or some other optic with magnfication later, but for now I'll just use iron sights when I shoot my AR-15, they are pretty good actually, good enough to hit a man at 200-300 yards with practice if I was using .223 instead of .22LR, just not as fast to acquire your target as the EOTech.
Iron sights would probably be good enough to hit a squirrel at 50 yards too, if my eye sight was up to the challenge. However, I haven't really done much rifle shooting since I've realized that my left eye is significantly better than my right eye when using contacts, so I may be able to shoot well enough if I can learn to live with shooting left handed.
I'm waiting now to see if I get into a play by post game of D&D 4e. I suspect that I'll get frustrated by the slow nature of a play by post game instead of tabletop or crpg, but it's better than sitting around bored with nothing to do. And I like the fact that in play by post you'll actually have time to think and study whenever you want without really bothering anyone else by slowing the game down. My character is a Halfling Ranger, with a lightning short bow +1 and 19 dex, but he's not optimized by any stretch of the imagination. I used standard array instead of point buy, so I only had a base 16 dex instead of base 18, and he's got way more strength than he needs, but I wanted to make a well rounded character who can be equally at home while scouting, socializing, or fighting.
